    Technology Councils of North America Announces New Board of Directors Including Industry Leaders from the US and Canada
    Venn Innovation Inc.’s Doug Robertson Assumes Role of Chair
     
    Santa Ana, Calif., July 31, 2018 – The Technology Councils of North America (TECNA) is pleased to announce the election of the 2018-2019 Board of Directors including a new Chair, Doug Robertson of Venn Innovation Inc. The 2018-2019 Board of Directors was ratified by the membership at the annual Summer Conference hosted by TECNA Member Technology Association of Iowa in Des Moines, July 24-26, 2018. Robertson replaces outgoing Chairman Skip Newberry of the Technology Association of Oregon, who will continue to serve on the Board.
     
    “I feel honored and privileged to become the Chair of TECNA,” said Robertson. “It is an exciting time for TECNA as we continue to grow, with new members joining us this year in Canada, the United States, and for the first time Mexico.  The tech industry we serve is global and dynamic and we have much planned in the year ahead to support our members, including a more robust effort around policy development and important industry challenges such as access to talent and workforce diversity.“
     
    TECNA serves its members and the industry through its strong peer-to-peer network and its regional initiatives to raise the visibility and viability of the technology industry. TECNA represents approximately 50 IT and technology trade organizations who, in turn, represent more than 22,000 technology-related companies in North America.
     
    TECNA 2018-2019 Board of Directors:
     
    Doug Robertson, President and CEO of Venn Innovation Inc. is now the Chairman of the TECNA Board of Directors. Robertson had previously been a member of the Board of Directors.
    Margaret Anderson Kelliher, President & CEO, Minnesota High Tech Association and Ryan Weber, CEO, KC Tech Council, were elected Board Vice-Chairs.
    Matt Gardner, CEO, California Technology Council (CTC). was elected Board Treasurer.
    At-large Board members are: Skip Newberry, President and CEO, Technology Association of Oregon; Steve Zylstra, President and CEO, Arizona Technology Council; Jay Larsen, president and founder, Idaho Technology Council; Avvey Peters, Chief Strategy Officer, Communitech; Brooks Raiford, President and CEO, North Carolina Technology Association; Kathy Knight, CEO, Information and Communication Technologies Association of Manitoba; Tom Hopcroft, President and CEO, Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC); Michael Schutzler, CEO, Washington Technology Industry Association; and Brian Kennedy, Senior Vice President, Operations & Strategic Programs, Pittsburgh Technology Council.
